Show Room is a project that discusses the object gesture and language of display. It serves as the stage for the Hard Candy series. The stage includes a 5 degree tilted pedestal, a carpet looking object, a corner panel and a hand drawn wood floor panel. Each item represents different ideas of display language which are then composed into one scene.
The hand drawn wood panel shows the aesthetic and color palette I used on my furniture while emphasizing the graphic quality I am pursuing.
The patterns and colors in the carpet looking object derive from research on hexagon patterns during the creation of the Hard Candy series. It represents a frozen movement and the twisted relationship between visual and the actual quality of an object.
The corner panel indicates the placement of the armchair and a visual disconnection created by false perspective.
All the objects I put in the show room originated from domestic interior, which indicates the usage of my furniture and helps compose a complete stage.
